Aasif Khan: The industry is still not very open to accept newcomers and my full potential is yet to be harnessed

Actor Asif Khan – known for web series Paatal Lok, Jamtara – Everyone’s Number Will Come And Mirzapur 2 – Wants to appear in more prominent parts on screen. “My full potential has not yet been utilized in any project. I am a theater actor, and I can do much more. If someone places bets on us theater actors, we will never be disappointed,” insisted Khan.

pagelight (2021) The actor feels that an artist usually experiences two phases in his career. Khan elaborates, “The first is when the project chooses him. In the second step, the actor chooses the project,” only a few get the latter option. I have started getting some good roles but there are not much options for me to choose from.

Noting that he cannot afford to be impotent and independent at this point of time, he shares, “Our industry is not so open to new people. It is very rare that something amazing and huge is made starring newcomers. I am looking forward to a lead role. Today or tomorrow, I am sure that day will come.

It is being said that the actor is satisfied with what he has for now. “Having the will is a different thing, but I have no regrets or thoughts that I didn’t get my due credit. A lot of people text me saying, ‘You’re an underrated actor’. I’m so happy to be an underrated actor.” Because there are many overrated actors at present. I am just happy that the position I am in, thousands and millions of people want to be here. If we keep looking at people who are above us, we will never be able to live Couldn’t be happier,” says Khan.

When asked if he faced any difficulty in finding work in his career spanning over a decade, the actor tells us that his first battle started at home. “My family did not want me to become an actor. So, my first fight was moving out of the house. I fought and went to Bombay. I don’t call it my struggle, I call it my learning. So the initial nine years in Bombay till 2019, were my learning years. I got my first film after 2019 India’s Most Wanted.”

Khan might have entered the industry through Bollywood films, but lately, he has been working on more projects on the web. “Actors should not be classified. In the end, an actor is an actor. You cannot say yeh TV mein bahut fame hai, yeh OTT mein, yeh theater ka actor hai,” concluded the actor, who went on to say next Bar will be seen in Yash Raj untitled project.
