About a week is left for the release of Mani Ratnam’s directorial film ‘Ponniyin Selvan-1’. Advance booking has been started for the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film. The excitement of the audience for the film is being seen from now on. By Sunday afternoon, all the shows have become almost housefull and if sources are to be believed, the film has earned around Rs 1 crore only through advance booking.
500 crore budget
Based on the novel written by Kalki, this film is a historically epic movie, which will have its first part. This historical movie is one of the much awaited films of this year. The budget of the film is being told around Rs 500 crore. It is being released in many languages. It has to be seen how the film gets the response.

Many big stars of Bollywood and South have worked in the film. If trade experts are to be believed, the film can get a strong opening, at least in the Tamil version. As far as the other versions are concerned, it has to be seen how the film gets the response to the first few shows. According to a report, till Sunday afternoon, around 78 thousand tickets have been sold and the film has earned 1.46 crores through advance booking. There is no news about the digital and satellite rights of the film yet. According to the news, the film has so far done a business of Rs 1.37 crore through the Tamil version and Rs 9 lakh through the Telugu version.
