Bobby Deol said, ‘Even at the age of 87, Dharmendra works hard, keeps signing good films’

Bobby, who is gearing up for his 2, which will also star Dharmendra and actor-brother Sunny Deol, said he was ‘in awe’ of his father as he appreciated his ‘work ethic and passion for acting’. Bobby also said that his father ‘has been working tirelessly since he was just 10 or 12 years old.’

Talking about Dharmendra to News18, Bobby Deol said, ‘I am very impressed with my father, who never ceases to amaze me with his way of working and passion for acting. Even at the age of 87, he continues to sign good films and watching him in action is truly inspiring. He has been working tirelessly since he was just 10 or 12 years old, and I have never seen anyone else with so much dedication and drive. It’s really remarkable to see it.”

Reflecting on the changes in the father-son relationship, Bobby said, “In my opinion, a father should always be respected as a father and there are certain limits which should not be crossed. However, as we get older and our parents age too, the dynamics of our relationship may change and we may feel more comfortable communicating and expressing ourselves with them. It’s a natural progression that happens in most families.”

In a 2022 interview with Hindustan Times, Bobby had opened up about missing father Dharmendra at home as a child. Bobby’s childhood was busy with the actor working multiple shifts on film sets and studios. Recalling that time, Bobby had said, ‘I used to miss him at home… Sometimes he used to take me to the shooting locations but was still busy. He would actually be working round the clock to build a beautiful kingdom for us. He used to sleep on the sets too.

Bobby Deol is married to fashion designer Tanya Deol. They have two sons – Aryaman Deol and Dharam Deol. Bobby was last seen in season 3 of Prakash Jha’s web series Aashram, which is slated to release in June 2022. His upcoming projects include Animal and Apne 2.
