China On Kashmir: China on Friday said that India and Pakistan should resolve their differences on the Kashmir issue peacefully through dialogue and consultations, three years after the revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. In August 2019, the Indian government abrogated the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution. With this, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories. Asked to comment on India’s abrogation of Article 370, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a press conference that the issue should be resolved peacefully through dialogue by India and Pakistan. .
“On Kashmir issue, China’s position is clear and consistent”
“On the issue of Kashmir, China’s position is clear and consistent,” spokesperson Hua told a Pakistani journalist here. This is the remaining issue of history between India and Pakistan and it is also a shared view of the international community. One should refrain from taking unilateral action to change the status quo or to escalate tensions.
“Appeal to both sides to maintain peace and stability in the region”
“We call on both sides to resolve the dispute through dialogue and consultation to maintain peace and stability in the region,” Hua said. Matters are purely internal affairs of India. The Ministry of External Affairs said in March this year, “Other countries, including China, have no right to comment.” They should note that India also refrains from making public statements on the internal issues of those countries.
