Commonwealth Games 2022 LIVE Updates:
The 2022 Commonwealth Games will be held from 28 July to 8 August in Birmingham, England. The Indian players and officials participating in these games will live in five different villages where the women’s cricket team will be housed in a separate facility in Birmingham City Centre. Significantly, the Indian contingent of 108 men and 107 women will participate in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. India will not compete in 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, netball and rugby sevens.
Commonwealth Games medalists Amit Panghal and Mohammad Hasamuddin have qualified for Birmingham 2022. Along with these two five-time Asian medalist Shiva Thapa will also be a part of the Indian boxing squad. All the male boxers of India were selected after the trials held in Patiala. At the same time, the women’s trial was held in Delhi. Mackie Kom could not qualify for the Commonwealth Games. He was injured during the trial.
