CWG 2022 India: The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games has concluded. This time India’s performance in these games held in Birmingham, England, was excellent and got a total of 61 medals including 22 gold in its account. Avinash Sable, serving in the Indian Army, did what hardly anyone would have expected. Avinash broke Kenya’s dominance in 3000m steeplechase and won the country a silver medal for the first time. His achievement can be gauged from the fact that from 1998 to 2018, only Kenyan players had occupied the top three. But this time Avinash missed out on winning the gold from very close but managed to create history by winning the silver.

India’s women’s team won the country’s first medal in four events (four-player matches) and that too straight gold. The women’s team of Lovely Choubey, Pinky, Nayanmoni Saikia and Roopa Rani Tirkey brought the nation gold in a game that hardly anyone has ever heard of. The Indian team created history by defeating South Africa 17-10 in the final.

India’s star squash player Saurav Ghoshal won the country a medal for the first time in the singles event of this sport. 35 Year’s Ghoshal got emotional after winning his first medal of this event and started crying on the court. The video of his moment became quite viral on social media.
women’s hockey team,
The Indian women’s hockey team captured the bronze medal this time and brought the country a medal again after 16 years.
