He said that this was the first time he was racing in front of his parents at a big sporting event. He said, ‘I am very happy, this is my first Commonwealth Games. I wanted to stay as calm as possible in this race and focus on myself instead of focusing on others. Now I feel very lucky to reach this position.

Commonwealth Games 48 medals including 16 gold medals were at stake on the first day, in which Australia won 16 medals including 8 gold. Australia is currently at the top of the medal table. Hosts England are in third place with 2 gold and 9 medals in total.
