The first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham went to the host England. England’s Alex Yee won the gold medal in the men’s triathlon on the first day. In the Olympics held last year, Alex missed the gold in this event very close. He had captured the silver.
24-year-old Alex took 50 minutes 34 seconds to complete the triathlon race. He defeated his rival Hayden Wild of New Zealand by 13 seconds. While Australia’s Matthew Hauser was in third place, he completed the triathlon with a time of 50 minutes 18 seconds.

Hayden of New Zealand could have won this race but due to a penalty of 10 seconds, he fell behind Alex. Explain that there are three events in a triathlon.
