England lost the last and deciding match of the three-match ODI series against India. With this, this team also lost the series 2-1. In the last match of the series in Manchester, England gave India a target of 260 runs, which was easily achieved by Team India due to the strong batting of Rishabh Pant (125) and Hardik Pandya (71). After the match, English captain Jos Buttler looked somewhat disappointed. He also enumerated the reasons for his team’s defeat.

Butler said, ‘I think we scored less runs. After that we needed a good start in bowling which we got. But two players (Rishabh and Hardik) took this match away from us. Be it T20 or ODI, we have not batted at our best in this summer season so far. We just need to bat for a little longer.

In this match, Jos Buttler missed the opportunity to stump Rishabh Pant. After this, Rishabh played a century and gave India victory. On this Butler says, ‘When you miss the opportunity to take wickets, then the batsman will create problems for you. We missed an opportunity to get Hardik out too. We had scored a small score, so we should have grabbed every opportunity to get the opposition batsmen out.

Butler also answered the question related to his role as a wicket-keeper captain during this period. He said, ‘To be honest, I feel fine. I did miss an opportunity today during wicketkeeping but I don’t think it has anything to do with my captaincy.
