Hardik Pandya, who was away from cricket for about 5 months after last year’s T20 World Cup and then made a strong comeback in the IPL, is now making a splash in international cricket as well. Not only did he perform brilliantly in the T20 series against South Africa and Ireland and now in the T20 match against England played on Thursday night, he was also seen in tremendous rhythm. He scored a half-century while batting and also took 4 wickets while bowling. His all-round performance gave Team India a big victory by 50 runs. Hardik Pandya was also selected ‘Player of the Match’.

After the match, Hardik told that it was very effective for him to take a break from cricket for a few months. Hardik said, ‘I am enjoying cricket right now. I have spent a long time on my skills and fitness. This became possible only after a break from cricket for a few months. I wanted to regain my momentum in bowling. When I decided to take a break from the game, it was a well thought out decision. There was no point in playing when I knew I couldn’t give my 100%. So I needed a break and I am very happy where I am now.

Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance
Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss in this match and elected to bat first. The Indian team got off to a brisk start and despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the runs continued to build up. Hardik Pandya (51), Suryakumar Yadav (39) and Deepak Hooda (33) played good innings for India. Team India scored 198 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.

In response, the English team stumbled in the beginning itself. By 33 runs, the English team had lost its 4 wickets. Moeen Ali (36), Harry Brooke (28) and Chris Jordan (26) did struggle a bit but it was insufficient. The entire English team was reduced to just 148 runs. Hardik Pandya took 4 and Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep took 2 wickets each.
