Bangladesh fast bowler Shahidul Islam has been suspended by the International Cricket Council. Actually, this Bangladesh fast bowler has been found guilty of violating Article 2.1 of the Anti-Doping Code. Now Shahidul Islam will not be seen on the cricket field for the next 10 years. Earlier on March 4, 2022, a sample of this player from the ICC’s out-of-competition testing program was taken in Dhaka.
The ICC said in its statement that Shahidul Islam made this mistake unintentionally. In fact, he consumed it unknowingly. The ICC further said in its statement that a drug was contained in what it was determined to be valid for medical reasons. Also we are satisfied with the statement of Shahidul Islam.
Shahidul Islam admits his mistake
At the same time, this 27-year-old fast bowler accepted the violation and has also accepted a 10-month suspension. Therefore he will be eligible to return to cricket on 28 March 2023. Shahidul played the only T20I match for Bangladesh in which he took the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan in the third and final match of the series, however, the series was won by Pakistan 3–0.
