This was Gill’s first fifty in ODI cricket. At the same time, Dhawan, who played only in the ODI format, hit 10 fours and three sixes in his innings. India were once looking to cross 350 runs but the middle order collapsed after Dhawan fell victim to a nervous ninety. Dhawan has suffered a ‘nervous ninty’ for the seventh time in his career. India’s score at one time was 213 for one wicket, which became 252 for five. Sanju Samson once again missed the golden opportunity and was dismissed for 12 runs.
