In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he shared his thoughts on the last day of filming for season 3 of Ted Lasso and said, “I mean, it was cute. It was a scene in the locker room, and then everyone’s gathered there.” Gone, it was jam-packed, which our COVID team was very worried about, naturally. But, yeah, lots of tears, lots of cheer, lots of applause. It was like a real sports team after their last game felt, but without really knowing whether we’d win or lose, as Ted says, isn’t really the most important thing, so in many ways we won. It was just the feeling, like a call to arms, that whatever whatever we’ve built here, and whatever we’ve built there, to bring to wherever any of us go next.
Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly created Ted Lasso, based on Sudeikis’ character from NBC Sports’ coverage of the English Premier League. The second season with 12 episodes was released in July 2021 and was also widely appreciated. The show’s relatable and lovable characters, intelligent writing, and positive themes of perseverance and optimism are just some of the reasons for its success. The third season of Ted Lasso premieres on Apple TV on March 15, 2023.
