England batsman Jonny Bairstow has found it costly to carry his teammate Sam Karen on his shoulder as he has been injured and is doubtful of his debut in the T20I series against South Africa. Bairstow had to leave the practice session midway. Bandages were tied on his left knee. He was having trouble walking but till now no decision has been taken about playing in his first T20 match.
England and South Africa have to play two matches in a row and in such a situation, Verito may have to be out of the first match. If that happens, Phil Salt and Harry Brooke will remain in the middle order. Both these players played against India. Bairstow was then rested.
