Mamta Banerjee congratulated Swara Bhaskar on her marriage through a letter, said- ‘We missed your presence’

Actress Swara Bhaskar and Fahad Ahmed of Samajwadi Party recently tied the knot in Delhi. They also held a wedding reception in the capital city. It was attended by many political personalities and leaders, while Mamta Banerjee did not participate in it. The West Bengal CM penned a heartfelt letter to Swara on their wedding and the actor posted a glimpse on Twitter. Swara Bhaskar married Fahadh Ahmed in Delhi.

Mamta wrote to Swara Bhaskar’s parents, “Dear Mrs. and Mr. Bhaskar I am very happy to receive your invitation to attend the wedding reception of your daughter Swara with Fahad, son of Kaisar Jahan and Janab Zirar Ahmed. My heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Swara and Fahad on this momentous occasion. I pray to God to bless them with a very happy and prosperous married life. I also extend my best wishes to all of you on this joyous occasion.

Sharing the letter, Swara wrote, “Thank you @MamataOfficial madam for your good wishes and gracious response to our invitation. We missed your presence at our reception but we deeply appreciate this kind gesture.”

CM Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the wedding reception of Swara and Fahad. Also in attendance were TMC leader Derek O’Brien, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and veteran actor, Samajwadi Party’s Jaya Bachchan.

Swara and Fahadh got engaged and had a court marriage in January this year. This was followed by an official announcement of the engagement with a private luncheon party in Mumbai. The actor first shared the news of their engagement on Twitter, and added pictures of her and Fahadh signing the papers to register their marriage.

She wrote, “Three cheers for the #SpecialMarriageAct (notice period etc notwithstanding) at least it exists and gives love a chance… Right to love, Right to choose your life partner, Right to get married, The right to agency should not be a privilege. @FahadZirarAhmad.” They also organized pre-wedding festivities, which included haldi, mehendi and a sangeet night, which was attended by their family members and close friends in Delhi.
