A person has broken the world record by eating the most chilies in a minute. According to the Guinness World Records, Gregory Foster, a resident of California, USA, broke the old record by eating 17 chilies in 60 seconds. Although he did this feat in November 2021, but his record got official recognition on Monday.

Ghost Pepper or Bhoot Jholkia Chili Pepper is one of the hottest chilies in the world. According to the report, this chili contains one million Scoville heat units. Scoville heat units are used to measure the spiciness of peppers and other pungent items. This means that Foster consumed 17 million Scoville Heat Units in just one minute. The man says that he likes to eat spicy food and also grows chillies at his home.


Chili-lover challenges himself
Foster explained that he spent a lot of time building up his tolerance level for spiciness and was the reason he was able to eat the hottest peppers. “This record-breaking effort was a personal challenge to see how far I could take myself and my love for hot chillies. As a chili-lover, I am trying to create awareness and excitement about super-hot chillies.
