Three decades after capturing the hearts of millions, the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is revisiting a nostalgic and emotional Netflix special titled Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always. The highly anticipated special premieres on April 19, and fans are already pumped with excitement as the first trailer drops.

Returning for the special are Walter Emanuel Jones (original Black Ranger Zack), David Yost (original Blue Ranger Billy), Katherine Sutherland (Pink Ranger Cat from season 3), Steve Cardenas (Red Ranger Rocky from season 2), Karan Ashley (Yellow Ranger Aisha), and Johnny Yong Bosch (Black Ranger Adam). Unfortunately, original Green Ranger actor Jason David Frank, who passed away last year at the age of 49, will not be featured in the special. However, the production team is expected to pay tribute to him in a heart-warming way.

The trailer shows the legendary Power Rangers facing off against their longtime nemesis, Rita Repulsa, who has acquired a powerful new robot body. In a surprise twist, newcomer Charlie Kersh is introduced as Trini’s daughter, adding an emotional layer to the story as the team comes together to save the world.

In an interview with EW, Yost and Jones reminisced about their Power Rangers journey and reunion experience. Yost said of Jones, “We went through the audition process together and launched the Power Rangers franchise.” Jones said, “It was such a surreal experience to be on the set of Power Rangers again after 28 years.”

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Forever pays homage to its roots, while still managing to tug at the heartstrings of its audience. The special, which marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise, seems a fitting tribute to a beloved series that has left a bittersweet legacy.
