Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel Has Been Officially Renewed For Season 2 As Season 1 Ends

Ahead of the conclusion of season one, Prime Video has officially renewed Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden for a second season. The actor also shared the good news on Instagram and urged fans to watch all the episodes of the series, which are now streaming online. David Weil will return as showrunner for the second series and filmmaker Joe Russo will direct all episodes in season two. Priyanka shared the renewal announcement

On Instagram, Priyanka shared the news of the renewal and wrote, “S2 is coming!! Looking forward to it (winking face emoji) @jennifersalke @therussobrothers. But for now watch the finale episode on @PrimeVideo @citadelonprime.” The series premiered on 28 April, after launching globally with red carpet premieres in London, Rome and Los Angeles.

Actress Sameera Reddy shared Priyanka’s post, “I love the first season! (red heart emoji) you go girl!” Her mother Dr Madhu Chopra added an emoji of clapping hands, while Deanne Pandey wrote, “I enjoyed it @priyankachopra you are amazing and so beautiful #mustwatch #citadel @citadelonprime.” A fan said, “@priyankachopra ma’am your action and acting was amazing.”

The first episode of the series, which also stars Leslie Manville and Stanley Tucci, is available to watch for free worldwide on Prime Video. Citadel is Prime Video’s second most-watched new original series outside the US, behind LOTR: Rings of Power, and the fourth most-watched series globally, according to the streaming platform.

Citadel’s innovative story has paved the way for an incredible, Worldwide collaboration with creatives in front of and behind the camera.”

What is it about?

Priyanka played the role of Nadia Singh, an agent who had her memory wiped after the global spy agency Citadel was taken down by a syndicate called Manticore. She is joined by another agent, Mason Kane (RICHARD), who asks for his help in stopping the Manticore. Production on the Italian and Indian versions of Citadel is already underway at Prime Video. Directed by Raj and DK, the Indian series stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. According to Deadline’s report, the production of the second series will take place in California.
