Protesters who occupied the ‘Temple Tree’, the official residence of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, have been camping there and have started cooking food inside the premises in Colombo. A protester inside the Sri Lankan PM’s house said, “We protesters have started cooking, we are inside the PM’s house. We have fought for the resignation of PM Wickremesinghe and President Rajapaksa. We Will leave the campus only when he resigns.”

Thousands of protesters stormed the official residence of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in the capital of Colombo, forcing him to flee to an undisclosed location. The protesters raised slogans like “ghar jaana hoga” and demanded his resignation. The protesters also set fire to the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Gotabaya will step down as the President on July 13, while Ranil Wickremesinghe will step down as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on Saturday, July 10.
