R Madhavan takes flight with ‘Rocketry’, will the sky be able to touch?

The Nambi Effect was discussed extensively during the Cannes Film Festival. The film premiered at Cannes 2022 and all those who had seen the film praised the film and lamented the story of Nambi. The story of the person depicted in the film was accused of serious charges like espionage of the country. This is a huge allegation in itself but after a long struggle the court finds them innocent. The Nambi Effect is a biopic film based on the life of eminent space scientist Dr. Nambi Narayanan, written and directed by R Madhavan. The film stars Simran with Madhavan himself in the lead role, while Ravi Raghavendra, Muraleedharan, Shyam Ranganathan, Sam Mohan and others play important supporting roles. Jaibhim fame superstar Suriya also made a cameo in the film. Apart from this, Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan has also played an important role of a journalist. Music is composed by Sam CS and cinematography is handled by Sirsha Ray.

Being a biopic, it is very difficult to wrap a long struggle of any person in 2-3 hours but R Madhavan has tried to do it by making rocketry. Rocket-scientist Nambi Narayanan’s biopic. Nambi was accused of espionage. The film majorly focuses on three aspects of Nambi. Firstly, his tenure at Princeton University in the US. Then his days at ISRO and finally the hardships Nambi and his family have to face because of the false allegations leveled against a man of great stature.

The film begins with Nambi’s family having a good time together and laughing. Then it is shown what the whole family has to face on the day of Nambi’s arrest. Their sons and daughters are attacked with sticks, stones and even cow dung. His wife is sent off a wedding, and is attacked by the police before being arrested.

Talking about the direction and artistry of the film Madhavan from ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ Directorial debut. He has also done acting and scripting in the film. During the promotion of the film, he had told how he got fat first for his character and how he also experimented with his teeth. Also he wrote the script after spending a long time with Nambi. There are no shortcomings in the film but he has repeated some things time and again. Which seems strange at times. R Madhavan’s acting in the film is superb. He has played the character of Nambi Narayanan with complete perfection.
