“I’m really suffering from a back injury, which has made my back really weak and it doesn’t allow me to work. I was gaining and gaining more and more weight. So I thought if I’m not able to burn calories, so I might as well cut down on intake,” the singer told us. “When I read about fasting, I was thrilled because it has so many benefits. I’m about a year and a half now.” I have been fasting for a month.

He fasts for 18 hours six days a week and one day a week he consumes only water. “Besides intermittent fasting, I’m actually fasting 24 hours a day a week, because I think it’s great for regeneration of cells. My body type is such that I can’t do anything for about 20 days or three weeks. all of a sudden the effect is visible on my body. I have lost weight since I started. I look much leaner and I feel better. When you are fasting, it can be very difficult You just have to divert yourself from the cravings and tell yourself that there is more to this world than just food. This is what happens when you focus on the finer things in life,” he elaborates .

The 35-year-old singer also shared how he tries to manage his cravings along with a busy work schedule. “The only thing I miss is a cup of tea. I’ve tried to balance my cravings. It is difficult to manage work with a fasting schedule. I try and keep it a bit flexible when I’m doing shows, because shows require a lot of energy. I can’t sing on an empty stomach. I think your mind can do wonders if you cultivate it and train it in a certain way. Not all bodies can fast. As much as I am advocating it, I also feel it is wise to talk to an expert before going for it.
