In the middle of the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave an update on Twitter on this injury of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. The board wrote in its tweet that, ‘Indian captain Rohit Sharma has a problem in his back. He is being looked after by the BCCI medical team. Significantly, for some time now, Rohit has been seen battling with injuries and he has continued to be in and out of the team. Earlier this year, he could not even go on the tour of South Africa. Then in the only Test against England, he could not play due to Corona.

Captain Rohit himself said this on the injury
Indian captain Rohit Sharma himself gave a statement on his injury after the match. He said, ‘As of now he (back problem) is fine. We have a few days before the next match. Hope the injury gets better by then. After this, while talking about this match, Rohit said that, our bowling in the middle over was important. Chasing was superb. Surya batted brilliantly and had a good partnership with Iyer. The pitch had a helping hand for the bowlers. So there was a need to play the right shot on the right ball on such ground.
