Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, along with it captured the Saki airbase. The 43rd Independent Naval Assault Aviation Regiment of the Russian Navy is stationed here. The base consists of 12 Sukhoi-30MS, six SU-24Ms and six Su-24MRs. This regiment has conducted several encounters with NATO military forces in the Black Sea in 2021. This base is currently 200 km away from the battle site. That is, Saki Air Base is away from Ukraine’s Long Range Fire Missile. The missiles and rockets that Ukraine has can go only up to 70 km.
