Sachin Pilgaonkar has no retirement plans yet: ‘Don’t think that any whiskey bottle or actor has an expiry date’

Sachin Pilgaonkar has been in the show business for the last six decades. The veteran actor has been acting since the age of four and will be next seen as a sly politician in season three of Disney+ Hotstar’s City of Dreams. He shared that he has no plans to retire and wants to continue working as long as he can. Veterans of Film and TV Industry
Since his debut as a child artist in the Marathi film Ha Maza Marg Ekla (1962), the actor has explored all kinds of avenues in the film industry. He has worked in films, television and OTT. He has also acted, directed, produced, written and sung in various industries. The actor has won two National Film Awards for Best Child Artist and has been a part of popular films such as Jewel Thief (1967), Sholay (1975), Balika Badhu (1976), Trishul (1978), Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978), Are. and Satte Pe Satta (1982).
In an interview with The Indian Express, the actor said, “I don’t think any whiskey bottle, or any actor, has an expiry date. I say this with respect to both, the statement is not derogatory at all. Because I Guess things are here to stay and if they are then let them be, there is nothing wrong with that. As long as you don’t overdo it or force yourself on something. You should not do anything that is not according to your age. Don’t adapt. A person like me can’t even think of retirement.”
Sachin’s next role
In Nagesh Kukunoor’s web series City of Dreams, Sachin plays Jagdish Gaurav, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who has several political battles with the Gaekwad family. The show also stars Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat, Eijaz Khan and Adinath Kothare. The third season will start from May 26 on Disney + Hotstar.
The actor is married to Supriya Pilgaonkar; The pair has worked together on several projects in both Hindi and Marathi. His daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar is also an actress. She was last seen in the web series Taaza Khabar opposite Bhuvan Bam.
Sachin has also been active in the Marathi film industry. He starred in the superhit musical Katyar Kaljat Ghusli in 2015 and directed Abhinay Berde, son of late actor Laxmikant Berde, in Aashi Hi Aashiqui (2018). Her last Hindi film was the Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki in 2018.
