According to an India Today report, the Mumbai Police, which is probing the case, said that the threat letter was a publicity stunt by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. According to officials, the threat was made at the behest of Vikram Barad, an aide of Bishnoi, who is currently based in Canada.
