Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi tied the knot with Ansha Afridi, daughter of former Pakistan all-rounder and captain Shahid Afridi. The marriage of both took place on Friday in a local mosque in Karachi, Pakistan.

The traditional Nikah was performed at Zakaria Masjid in Karachi, further rituals are underway. A reception was also organized after the marriage ceremony. Pakistani channel Geo News reported that Afridi’s companions Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah were included in the party.

Other attendees included Pakistan squash legend Jahangir Khan, former Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Asim Bajwa and International Cricket Council General Manager Wasim Khan. A picture of Shaheen Afridi with his father-in-law Shahid Afridi and cricketers Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed surfaced during the reception on Friday, February 3, 2023.

The couple’s mehndi ceremony took place on Thursday evening while Shaheen Shah Afridi’s family reached Karachi city two days before the wedding. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Ansha got engaged two years ago. The star pacer had once blushingly revealed that it was his wish to marry Shahid Afrid’s daughter.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s wife Ansha is a doctor and was pursuing her education in the UK. Afridi, who has recently been in and out of cricket due to injuries, made his Pakistan debut in 2018 and emerged as a breakout star. Since then he has been intimidating batsmen around the world with his pace.
