Los Angeles. Singer Mandy Moore has informed fans by releasing an update about her pregnancy and second child. The ‘This Is Us’ star revealed in a Today Parents interview published on Friday that she could not get an epidural during childbirth due to an autoimmune disorder called immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), reports People.com. .
According to People.com, Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith are already parents to 17-month-old son Gus.
Moore shared, “My platelets are too low for an epidural. It’s terrible but I can do it one more time. I can climb that mountain again.”
He continued, “I wish medication was an option, the idea of just putting it on the table would have been great but we’ll go on like last time.”
On Thursday, the singer also shared a positive pregnancy update on Instagram.
“I’m fine. I just have to keep getting my blood checked, my platelet levels are low, but they’ve always been low,” Moore said. “But I’m all right. Everything’s good.”
