Similarly, another person from Uttar Pradesh was duped of Rs 40 lakh. He didn’t even have that much money, yet he borrowed from friends and transferred them to the fraudsters himself, but why and how? This is the story of 100 people from different states across the country with whom I have engaged, not just two youths from Uttar Pradesh. All of them were victims of work from home scam. All 100 individuals lost between $50,000 and $50,000,000. Some of them are now drowning in debt, while others claim to have been on the street since their entire life’s capital was wiped out.

How is this whole scam happening? How are educated people becoming victims of fraud?

Initially, it was said that in order to increase the Instagram and YouTube reach of a blogger, specific accounts should be followed and videos should be highlighted every day. The scammers gained the trust of the victims by paying Rs 1000 to 10000 into their accounts on the very first day itself. To do this, the fraudsters initially take the victim into their hands by offering up to Rs 10,000 per day, giving the victim the impression that this work is legitimate.
