New Delhi: Spin all-rounder Axar Patel’s batting has seen rapid improvement over the years. The proof of this was seen in his unbeaten knock of 64 not out off 35 balls.
He also had his first half-century in ODI cricket, which helped India win the second ODI against the West Indies in Trinidad and the series.
Delhi Capitals assistant coach Praveen Amre has been with Akshar since 2019. He expressed happiness over the all-rounder’s recent stellar batting performance, saying that he was doing the same for his IPL team.

“We have to give a lot of credit to the owners as well, as they are the ones who bought him from Punjab for Delhi (Akshar was bought by Delhi for Rs 5 crore before the 2019 IPL season) and believed that he was for Delhi Capitals,” he added. Can be a great player.
He said, he is doing very well for the last three years. We all believe that he is going to be a real all-rounder and he is doing really well for India.
Amre said, “We are very happy because he has done the same for us at Delhi Capitals, like he has won for us with the bat in some matches. We know what a good bowler he is, but his all-rounder role is important especially in T20 cricket. I am expecting him to do the same for Team India in the World Cup.
Amre expressed his happiness with the Delhi captain and India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant along with his stellar batting performances in international cricket.
Pant during this time had memorable tours against West Indies in the T20I series and against England, scoring 146 and 57 runs in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston and 125 not out in the ODI series decider at Edgbaston.
“I would say that IPL experience has really helped him to go out and give 100 per cent for Team India’s success. Glad to see them contribute. It is cool and we are really hoping that he contributes in the upcoming series as well.
