The age of the suspected attacker is said to be 41 years. His name is Yamagami Tetsuya. The attacker was a member of the Self Defense Force. The gun with which the attack took place was recovered from the spot. That’s a shotgun.
The suspect Yamagami Tetsuya is a resident of Nara City. According to media reports, he had worked in self-defense for about three years before 2005. During interrogation, Yamagami Tetsuya has told that he was angry about some things of the former PM, so he tried to kill him. The condition of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (age 67 years) is critical after being shot. He was not even breathing. At present, he has been shifted to another hospital (Nara Medical University Hospital).
