In WPL 2023 on Wednesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered their first win in six matches by defeating UP Warriors by 5 wickets.The hero of this victory was Kanika Ahuja, who played a brilliant inning of 46 runs for RCB. At the same time, after the match, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana praised this young all-rounder. Seeing his match-winning innings and his confidence, he said that he is a 360-degree player.

In this match played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (March 15), UP Warriors batting first gave a target of 136 runs in front of RCB. In response to which the RCB team won the match by achieving the target in 18 overs on the basis of Kanika Ahuja’s blistering innings.

Kanika gave victory to her team by scoring 46 runs in 30 balls with the help of eight fours and a six. At the same time, after the match, captain Smriti Mandhana praised him and described him as a 360 degree player.

He said, ‘Yes, it was very stressful. We lost a few wickets early in the 7th over, but the way Kanika and Richa played was commendable. I am especially proud of Kanika. I am really excited to watch him, he is a 360-degree player, which is not common in Indian cricket.

Chasing 136 runs, the RCB team was in a difficult position at 60/4 in 9 overs. Both the team’s openers Smriti Mandhana (0) and Sophie Devine (14) soon returned to the pavilion. After which Kanika Ahuja took the lead and shared a 60-run partnership with wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh to bring RCB to the brink of victory.
